Westminster City Council Election Results

The present City of Westminster is an amalgamation of the former City of Westminster with the Metropolitan Boroughs of Paddington and St. Marylebone. It was first elected on 7th May 1964 and came into operation on 1st April 1965.

For the first election, new wards were drawn up for Paddington and St. Marylebone with between two and five members. In the former City of Westminster area, the existing wards were reduced to one member (having had three). In 1968, multi-member wards were introduced in the former City of Westminster. There were boundary changes in 1978 and 2002.
